Social Skills Groups can help children who need support with:
Reading non-verbal social cues
Sensory Processing Challenges/SPD
Connecting with peers
Initiating play with peers
Is your child having trouble connecting with peers?
Does your child have a hard time regulating their emotions?
Does your child struggle with conflict resolution?
Your child is not alone. There are many children who need extra support with these challenges. I create a safe and compassionate space where your child can start working on their goals with peers. A space where your child can gain the self-confidence to practice skills they learn in the group and use them on the playground when things get tough. Each group is held in a supportive and facilitated environment. I incorporate mindfulness activities for children to become more aware of themselves and the world around them.
The groups are influenced by Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking Curriculum, The Mindful Child, Play and Drama Therapy, and the social-emotional learning toys Kimochis®.
Social Skills Groups
I offer social skills groups for children between the ages of 4-11 years old. There's never more than four children per group in order to maximize learning opportunities for each child.
